How to Create Goals

On Talenta Performance, you can set targets or goals that your employees want to achieve. This feature can be accessed in the Goals section.

Important
If there is an approval layer for when you are creating a new goal or editing a goal, then you can learn the guide here.

Here are the steps on How to Make Goals on Talenta Web:

  1. Login to your Performance Review Talenta Account.
  2. Select  Goals  and you can select the type of goals you want to create, namely Individual, Team, Organization, or Company.
  3. Click  "Create New Goal".

  4. Fill in the required information in the columns containing Goal detail and Target .

    Goal owner

    Fill in with the owner responsible for access to view, create, and edit goals .

    Goal type

    Choose your goal type, Individual, Team, Organization, or Company.

    Select goals

    Select a new goal to create a new goal (without linking it to a team goal) or align goal to create a new goal to be linked to a team, organization, or company goal. The following is the dropdown that appears when you select Align goals where you can choose to align goals with one another.

    Users can link goals to Key results from parent goals (if any). Here are the rules:
    - Individual goals can be aligned with a team or organization.
    - Team goals can be aligned with organizational goals.
    - Organization goals can be aligned with other organization goals or with company goals.

    Goal name

    Enter the name Goals

    Description

    Fill in a more detailed description of the Goals.

    Goal cycle

    Fill in with the period type from Goals

    Goal period

    Enter the start date and end date of the Goals in the Start Date and Due Date fields.

    Due date at least one day after the start date.

    Do not use baseline

    Click to create a goal without a baseline. If you tick this, the baseline column will change color to gray and you do not need to fill in the baseline. This option applies to Key Result as well.

    You can apply this to either decrease or increase KPI goals.

    Measurement type

    Choose the type of goals measurement based on Increase KPI for increasing targets or Decrease KPI for decreasing targets.

    If you choose Increase KPI, then the Target (see point number 11) must be greater than the Baseline (see point number 10). Conversely, if you choose Decrease KPI, the Baseline must be greater than the Target.

    Do not round the percentage of goals and KR achievement

    Click on the box to disable automatic rounding for goal percentage and Key Result Achievement.

    Measurement units

     

    Choose a benchmark unit based on Percentage (%), Number, or Rupiah.

    You can tick “repeat measurement and reset after the cycle ends” to repeat and reset measurement goals after a cycling goal ends.

    Baselines - Targets

    • Baseline: Determine the reference point used for goal comparison purposes.
    • Target: Fill in the target you want in the measurement  unit you have chosen.

    Who can update the progress

    Select which employees can update Goals.

    You can determine more than one employee, who can update the goals in the Team or Organization goals as in the image below.

    Check Limit access of this organization goal for who can update list only  to limit access to this organization goal for employees included in who can update list only.

    Goal progress mechanism

    You can choose one of two options for updating the progress of the goal or key result mechanism, namely:
    - Update value accumulation: Click to update all accumulations achieved manually.
    Update value per event: Click to update the accumulation based on each event. The system will automatically accumulate the value.

    Goal weight

    Determine the goal weight  (Goal weight) to calculate the value of the goals if included in the review.

  5. Then, you can also add Key  results (optionally on individual/team/organization goals) to measure your Key Result goals by clicking "Add key result".

    Fill in a more detailed description of the Key result.

    Measurement type

    Select the Key result measurement type based on Increase KPI for  ascending targets or Decrease KPI for descending target sequences.

    If you choose Increase KPI, then the Target (see point number 11) must be greater than the Baseline (see point number 10). Conversely, if you choose Decrease KPI, the Baseline must be greater than the Target.

    Measurement units

    Choose a benchmark unit based on Percentage (%) , Number (number), or Rupiah.

    Baseline

    Determine the reference point used for Key Result comparison purposes.

    Target

    Fill in the target you want in the measurement unit you have chosen.

    Goal progress mechanism

    You can choose one of two options for updating goal progress or key results, namely:
    -   Update value accumulation:  Click to update all accumulations achieved manually.
    - Update value per event: Click to update the accumulation based on each event. The system will automatically accumulate the value.

    If you choose update value per event on the key result, the system will ignore the goal progress mechanism on the Goal because the progress of the goal will adjust to the progress of the key result.

  7. Click "Submit" when you have finished filling in the new Key result details.
  8. Then, a new Key result will appear in the list as shown below. If the details are correct, tick "Submit and create a new goal" and "Submit".

    - You can re-edit details by clicking the “Pencil”  icon and delete details by clicking the “Trash can” icon.
    - There is a description of the key result progress mechanism that you have selected. In the example above  "Achievement per event"  because you have selected Update value prevent.

  9. You will get information when a goal is successfully created.  Then, you can see a list of goals that have been successfully created on the Goals-Individual/Team/Organization/Company page. To edit a goal, you can click the "Three dots" icon, then select  View detail.

    If the goal is the parent of another goal there will be a "down arrow" icon , if you click on it the other goal will look like a blue arrow.

  10. Next, click  “Edit goal”.

  11. After that, you will be directed to the Edit goals page where you can change some of the data that you have previously saved.

    - Column type, goal owner, and measure progress cannot be edited.
    - Measurement type and key result on Goals cannot be edited again if progress on Goals has been updated.
    - In the goal cycle, the minimum goal end date is today or greater.
    - If you have taken the Closed Goals action, then the goal can no longer be edited.
