How to Add, Edit, Delete, Export and Import Strategic Business Unit (SBU)

Through Mekari Talenta, you can create a Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This concept is commonly used in corporate strategy. The SBU is a semi-autonomous unit that operates as a separate entity and is responsible for its own strategic planning, decision-making, and performance evaluation. The SBU feature in Talenta is created separately from other organizations in your company where you can create several SBU groups first before designing the content structure.

In this guide, you can learn how to design and manage a Strategic Business Unit, here's how.

  1. To enter the Strategic Business Unit page, click your profile then Account settings.

  2. Click Company, then select SBU group.

A. How to Add SBU

  1. On the SBU group page, click “View details” on one of the groups you want to edit.

  2. In the newly created group, the SBU list will be empty as shown below. Click “Add SBU” to create a new SBU.

  3. In the pop-up that appears, fill in the Code and SBU name. Include SBU parent if necessary. Then, select "Save".

    - Make sure the Code and SBU name have never been registered/new.
    - If you select Save and add more, a new SBU is created and you will be directed to this pop-up again to immediately create another SBU.

  4. Therefore, the SBU is successfully saved.

B. How to Edit SBU

  1. On the SBU group page, click “View details” on one of the groups you want to edit.

  2. In the list of SBUs that have been created, select one of the SBUs that you want to edit. Click “Actions” then Edit SBU.

  3. In the pop-up that appears, you can change the Code and/or SBU name. Include or edit the SBU parent if necessary. Then, select “Save changes”.

  4. Therefore, the SBU has been successfully changed or updated. You will be directed to the SBU list page.

C. How to Delete SBU

  1. On the SBU group page, click “View details” on one of the groups you want to edit.

  2. In the list of SBUs that have been created, select one of the SBUs that you want to edit. Click “Actions” then Delete SBU.

  3. Click “Delete” on the pop-up that appears.

  4. Therefore, the SBU has been successfully deleted and you are returned to the SBU list page.

D. How to Export and Import SBU

You can also enter SBU data in bulk via the import feature, here are the steps.

  1. In the SBU Group list, click “View details”.
  2. Then, click the “Import” icon.
  3. You can first download the template provided by Talenta.
  4. Then, fill in the information data in the template as follows.
  5. Next, click "Choose file" to select a file and click "Submit" to upload the file.
  6. So your import process is in progress, you can see the import status via the Messages menu.
  7. If the import is successful, you will see the following display.
  8. And it will look like this.
  9. You can also download existing data by clicking the “Export” icon.
  10. The downloaded data will look like this.
