SBU is an abbreviation for Strategic Business Unit, which is a concept used in company strategy. These strategies are defined in separate business units within a larger organization. The SBU is a semi-autonomous unit that operates as a separate entity and is responsible for its own strategic planning, decision-making, and performance evaluation.
You can create a Strategic Business Unit through HRIS Mekari Talenta. Furthermore, you can create an SBU group that is separate from the rest of the organization in your company.
To create an SBU, you need to create a group first. Follow the steps below.
- To enter the Strategic Business Unit page, click your profile then Account settings.
- Click Company, then select SBU group.
A. How to Create an SBU Group
- On the SBU group page, click “Create SBU group”.
- In the pop-up that appears, you are required to fill in the Group name. Fill in a description if necessary. Then, click "Save".
- Hence, the SBU group was successfully created.
B. How to Edit SBU Group
- On the SBU group page, click “View details” on one of the groups you want to edit.
- Select “Actions” at the top right of the page then click Edit SBU group.
- In the pop-up that appears, you can change the contents of the Group name. Add Description if necessary. Then, click “Save changes”.
- Therefore, the SBU group details have been successfully changed.
C. How to Delete SBU Group
- On the SBU group page, click “View details” on one of the groups you want to edit.
- Select “Actions” at the top right of the page then click Delete SBU group.
You cannot delete an SBU group if there are employees still assigned to the SBU. To delete an SBU group, make sure the employees in the group are unassigned.
- Click "Delete" to continue deleting the group.
